Customers see the wrong bulk form

Overview

If customers see a different bulk order form than expected, this is almost always caused by overlapping visibility rules or form priority.

Remember:
A customer can see only one bulk order form at a time.

Most common reasons

1. Multiple bulk forms match the same customer

If a customer matches more than one form:

  • The app applies visibility priority rules

  • Only the highest-priority form is shown

Visibility priority order

  1. Specific customers

  2. Customers with tags

  3. Logged-in customers

  4. All customers

2. Tags or customers are reused across forms

To avoid conflicts:

  • A customer can only be assigned to one form

  • Tags used in one form cannot be reused in another

If reuse happens, one form will override the other.

3. Customer has multiple tags

If a customer has multiple tags:

  • Only one matching form is shown

  • The form with higher priority takes precedence

This can make it seem like the “wrong” form is active.

4. Testing with the wrong account

Testing as:

  • Admin

  • The wrong customer

  • A customer with extra tags

can give misleading results.

How to fix the issue

Step 1: Identify which form the customer sees

  • Log in as the customer

  • Note which form appears

Step 2: Check visibility settings of all forms

For each bulk order form:

  • Review visibility type

  • Check assigned tags or customers

  • Look for overlaps

Step 3: Remove overlaps

  • Use specific customers only when necessary

  • Avoid overlapping tags

  • Clearly separate customer groups

Step 4: Test again

  • Use a private/incognito window

  • Log in as the affected customer

  • Verify the correct form appears

Best practices

  • Plan visibility rules before creating many forms

  • Document which customers belong to which form

  • Avoid mixing “All customers” with restricted forms

  • Test visibility after every change

Common confusion

“Pricing looks wrong”

This is often caused by:

  • The customer seeing a different bulk form

  • That form having different pricing rules
