For business customers (B2B), the buyer VAT number may be needed on the invoice. In Company Settings, use VAT Number Source to tell the app where to look.

Available sources

  • Customer Metafield (default) โ€” reads a VAT number from the customer record. You can set the namespace and key; if left empty, the app uses custom and vat_number.

  • Order Notes โ€” looks in the order note text.

  • Order Attributes โ€” reads from order custom attributes. You can enter one or more keys, separated by commas (for example vat_number,tax_id,btw_nummer).

  • Customer Notes โ€” looks in the customer note field.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Company Settings.

  2. Select your preferred VAT Number Source.

  3. If you use Customer Metafield or Order Attributes, fill in the optional namespace/key fields shown.

  4. Click Save Settings.

Make sure your Shopify store actually stores VAT numbers in the place you selected, so they appear when an invoice is generated or updated.
