Pricing bases
When you edit a rate card you can price by:
- Fixed — a set price
- Cart total — scales with cart money totals
- Cart weight — scales with total shippable weight
- Cart quantity — scales with item count
- Cart volume — needs product dimensions
- Cart dimensional weight — needs dimensions and a dimensional-weight divisor (see Settings)
Rates can also include percentage or threshold-style discounts based on cart amount, weight, or quantity (depending on the rate editor options).
What checkout shows
Each matching rate returns a service name, optional description, and price. Dynamic names from your flow are supported — the carrier service keeps service discovery off so Shopify does not lock you to a fixed list of method names.
Dimensions
Volume and dimensional-weight pricing need length/width/height on variants. Configure them under Product Dimensions and units under Settings.
