Introduction

The OO – EU Tax Exemption app allows EU B2B customers to purchase VAT-free by validating their VAT number and applying the correct tax logic inside Shopify.

The app supports two different processing modes:

1. Draft Order Logic

2. Standard Shopify Checkout Logic

Which mode you use has a direct impact on:

• VAT removal accuracy

• Price calculation

• Market-specific pricing

• Compatibility with other apps

This Getting Started collection explains how to set up the app and which mode is right for your store.

Choose Your Processing Mode (Important)

Before continuing setup, decide which mode you want to use.

Draft Order Logic

When enabled, the app creates a Shopify Draft Order after successful VAT validation and redirects the customer to a draft order checkout.

This mode offers the highest accuracy and control for:

• Multiple markets

• Fixed market prices

• Complex B2B setups

Standard Checkout Logic

When disabled, the app relies on Shopify’s native tax exemption system and standard checkout flow.

This works for simple setups, but has limitations.
