Overview

You can restrict a bulk order form so that only customers with specific Shopify customer tags can see and use it.

This is commonly used for:

  • Wholesale customers

  • B2B partners

  • Resellers or distributors

When to use customer tags

Use customer tags if:

  • You want automatic access control

  • Customers belong to a clear group (for example: B2B, Wholesale)

  • You do not want to manage customers individually

Step-by-step: show the form to customers with specific tags

Step 1: Add tags to customers in Shopify

  1. Go to Customers in your Shopify admin

  2. Open a customer

  3. Add one or more tags (for example: B2B)

  4. Save the customer

Tip: Tags are not case-sensitive, but spelling must match exactly.

Step 2: Open the bulk order form

  1. Go to Bulk order forms in the app dashboard

  2. Open the form you want to restrict

Step 3: Configure visibility settings

  1. Go to the Visibility section

  2. Select Customers with tags

  3. Select one or more tags

    • Example: B2B, Wholesale

Adding a new tag

You can also add a new tag directly from the visibility settings:

  1. Start typing a tag name

  2. Click Add โ€œtagnameโ€

This allows you to configure visibility before customers actually have the tag.

Example:

  • You add the tag Wholesale in the visibility settings

  • No customer has this tag yet

  • Later, you assign Wholesale to customers in Shopify

  • Those customers automatically get access to the bulk order form

Important: Adding a tag here does not assign it to customers automatically.

Step 4: Save and enable the form

  1. Save the form

  2. Make sure the form status is On

  3. Test visibility with a tagged customer

How tag-based visibility works

  • Customers must be logged in

  • If a customer has at least one matching tag, they can see the form

  • Tags are matched using OR logic

Example:
B2B or Wholesale โ†’ access granted

Important rules to know

  • A customer can see only one bulk order form

  • Tags used in one form cannot be reused in another form

  • If a tag is already assigned elsewhere, it will not apply again

  • Untagged customers cannot see the form

Common issues

Customer cannot see the form

Check:

  • Customer is logged in

  • Tag exists on the customer profile

  • Tag spelling matches the visibility rule

  • Another bulk form is not overriding this one
