The Customers page shows a spreadsheet of customers loaded from your store.

Edit a single cell

  1. Click a cell and type or choose a new value.

  2. Continue editing other cells as needed.

  3. When you are ready, use the Shopify save bar to Save.

  4. To cancel all unsaved changes, click Discard.

โš ๏ธ Be aware that changes are permanent if you save!

Fields you can edit

  • General: first name, last name, email, phone, tags, note, locale, tax exempt

  • Marketing: email, SMS, and WhatsApp marketing consent

  • Default address: company, address lines, city, province/country codes, zip, phone

  • Metafields: customer metafields defined in your store (and metafields already present on loaded customers)

Read-only fields

Some columns are display-only, such as total spent, order count, and created date.

Locale

The Locale column is a dropdown with all locales Shopify supports (for example Dutch (nl) or English (en)).

Tips

  • Only changed fields are sent to Shopify when you save.

  • Marketing consent updates follow Shopifyโ€™s rules (for example, subscribed states need a valid opt-in level).

  • If a save fails for a customer, the error message from Shopify is shown so you can fix the data.
