What conditions do
Conditions decide which path of the rates flow runs for a checkout request. You can match destination, origin, time, cart metrics, products, and more.
Condition groups
- Destination — country, province/state, postal code
- Origin — origin country, postal code, address lines
- Time — date, day of week, time of day (shop-local)
- Other — checkout locale
- Cart — weight, subtotal, quantity, volume, length/width/height totals, dimensional weight
- Product — name, SKU, vendor, tags, collections, specific products/variants, metafields, price, weight, dimensions
Operators are typically any / not any for lists, and gte / lte / eq for numbers and dates.
Enrichment
Shopify’s carrier callback sends product and variant IDs, but not tags, collections, or metafields. When your flow needs those, the app loads them from the Admin API at rate time before matching.
Metafields
Product and variant metafield conditions use namespace.key=value (comma-separated for multiple). App-owned dimension metafields appear as $app.length (and width/height) in the picker.
